A former employee has filed a lawsuit against his previous employer, alleging a series of violations including breach of contract and discrimination. The complaint was filed by Steven Godbier in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, on April 30, 2025, against Airworks Solutions, Inc., Kevin Allen, Stephanie Allen, and unnamed defendants Does 1-50.

Steven Godbier's case revolves around his employment with Airworks Solutions as a full-time Service Technician and Manager. He claims that during his tenure starting in January 2016, he was promised hourly wages and health benefits under a written contract. However, the situation took a drastic turn on June 28, 2023, when Godbier suffered an electrocution accident at work due to alleged negligence by a co-worker. This incident led to severe injuries and subsequent disability for Godbier. In retaliation for filing a workers' compensation claim following the accident, Godbier alleges that Airworks Solutions canceled his health benefits without notice in September 2024. This cancellation left him with over $200,000 in medical expenses as workers' compensation insurance denied coverage post-cancellation.

Godbier further accuses Airworks Solutions of failing to reimburse him for over $20,000 worth of tools he purchased for work purposes. He also claims that during his employment, he was denied statutory meal and rest periods. The complaint outlines multiple causes of action including breach of written contract; failure to provide meal and rest periods; disability discrimination under Government Code §§12940 et seq.; retaliation; workers' compensation discrimination; failure to reimburse; conversion; intentional infliction of emotional distress; and unfair business practices under Business & Professions Code §17200 et seq.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court including general damages exceeding the jurisdictional minimums for lost earnings and benefits due to the alleged wrongful termination and retaliatory actions by the defendants. He also demands punitive damages aimed at punishing the defendants for their alleged malicious conduct along with injunctive relief to prevent future unlawful practices by Airworks Solutions.

Representing Steven Godbier are attorneys Bryan S. Doss and Mark J. Uyeno from Doss & Uyeno LLP based in Westlake Village, California. The case is identified under Case No.: 2025CUVYT043322.
