In a class action lawsuit filed on January 14, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, John Bramsfort has accused Olam Americas, LLC of multiple labor law violations. The complaint alleges that the company failed to pay minimum and overtime wages, did not provide proper meal and rest periods, issued inaccurate wage statements, and neglected to reimburse business expenses.

John Bramsfort, representing himself and other similarly situated employees, claims that Olam Americas engaged in unlawful employment practices at its facilities in Oxnard, California. The lawsuit highlights that Bramsfort worked as a maintenance coordinator from around 2022 through January 2025. According to the complaint, Olam Americas failed to compensate employees for all hours worked by rounding meal period times and automatically deducting time for breaks that were not fully taken. This practice allegedly led to underpayment of both minimum and overtime wages.

The lawsuit further accuses Olam Americas of failing to provide legally required meal and rest periods. Employees were reportedly pressured into working through their breaks due to understaffing or job demands. "Plaintiff was rarely relieved of all duties during unpaid meal periods," the complaint states. Additionally, the company is alleged to have violated California's labor laws by not paying premiums for missed or interrupted breaks.

Bramsfort also contends that Olam Americas issued inaccurate wage statements that did not reflect actual hours worked or correct pay rates. The lawsuit claims these inaccuracies stemmed from the company's failure to incorporate non-discretionary bonuses into overtime calculations and improper deductions for business expenses borne by employees.

Seeking redress from the court, Bramsfort demands recovery of unpaid wages with interest, liquidated damages for minimum wage violations, penalties for inaccurate wage statements, reimbursement for business expenses incurred without compensation, and attorney fees. He also requests a jury trial.

Represented by attorneys Jamie K. Serb, Brandon Brouillette, and Zachary M. Crosner from Crosner Legal PC based in Beverly Hills, CA., John Bramsfort seeks justice against Olam Americas under Case No. 2025CLIOEOS7142 in front of Judge Alex Lopez.
