A recent court filing has brought to light a serious vehicular accident involving allegations of negligence and recklessness. The complaint, filed by Veronica Barrera Marquez on August 6, 2024, in the Ventura Superior Court, accuses Rogelio Robles and Samantha Robles of causing a collision that resulted in significant injuries and damages.

According to the complaint (Case No.: 2024CUPA028249), Veronica Barrera Marquez and her minor daughter Kimberly Marquez were traveling northbound on Saviers Road in Oxnard, California, on June 2, 2023. They allege that the defendants, Rogelio Robles and Samantha Robles, along with unnamed parties referred to as Does 1 through 10, negligently operated a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. The plaintiffs claim that this negligence led directly to a collision with their vehicle. The lawsuit states that the defendants "so negligently, carelessly, recklessly, wantonly, and unlawfully drove" their vehicle causing the crash.

The plaintiffs assert that as a direct result of this accident, they sustained severe injuries affecting their health and well-being. Specifically, they suffered injuries to their nervous systems and experienced ongoing physical and emotional distress. "As a result of such injuries," the complaint reads, "Plaintiffs have suffered general damages according to proof." Additionally, they have incurred medical expenses and anticipate future medical costs due to the injuries sustained in the accident.

Moreover, the complaint details further consequences stemming from the incident. Veronica Barrera Marquez claims loss of earnings and earning capacity both past and future due to her injuries. Property damage is also cited as part of the losses suffered by the plaintiffs. The legal document seeks compensation for these damages including all medical expenses incurred so far and those anticipated in the future.

In terms of relief sought from the court, Veronica Barrera Marquez requests general damages according to proof presented during trial. She also seeks reimbursement for all medical expenses—both past and future—as well as compensation for lost earnings and diminished earning capacity. Additionally, she asks for property damage compensation along with prejudgment interest and other related costs associated with bringing this suit forward.

Representing Veronica Barrera Marquez is Hector A. Marrache from Marrache Law PC based in Oxnard, California. The case will be overseen by judges assigned within Ventura Superior Court under Case ID: 2024CUPA028249.
