Becky Miller, a former employee of XiFin, Inc., has filed a lawsuit against the company alleging age discrimination, wrongful termination, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint was filed on March 17, 2025, in the Superior Court of California for the County of Ventura by her attorney Troy C. Skinner from Skinner Law Corporation. Miller accuses XiFin, Inc., a California corporation, of unlawfully terminating her employment due to her age and replacing her with a younger employee.

According to the court documents, Becky Miller began working at XiFin as a Database Administrator on August 22, 2012. Over her twelve-year tenure at the company, she received multiple promotions and ultimately held the position of Senior Director of Claims Satisfaction. Throughout her career at XiFin, Miller consistently received positive performance reviews and met or exceeded expectations. However, on April 10, 2024, she was issued a negative performance warning that she claims was fabricated and never presented to her as a pretext for her eventual termination on August 2, 2024. At the time of her dismissal, Miller was 67 years old and contends that she was replaced by a younger and less experienced employee.

Miller's complaint outlines several causes of action against XiFin: age discrimination in violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), failure to prevent discrimination under FEHA provisions, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She argues that despite being part of an alleged Reduction in Force (RIF), she was the only one terminated from her job category while younger employees were retained. This selective layoff pattern is cited as evidence supporting claims of age discrimination.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages for lost wages and benefits due to wrongful termination along with emotional distress damages caused by what she describes as extreme and outrageous conduct by XiFin. Additionally, punitive damages are sought to punish and deter future unlawful behavior by the defendant. Furthermore, Miller requests reasonable attorneys' fees and costs incurred during litigation.

Representing Becky Miller is attorney Troy C. Skinner from Skinner Law Corporation based in Ventura County. The case is presided over by judges at the Superior Court of California for Ventura County under Case No.: 2025CLUIOE0404486.
