In a case filed at the Ventura Superior Court on August 17, 2023, plaintiff Brian Marquez, represented by Hussein A. Chahine and Eric H. Godoy of Socal Injury Lawyers, is suing Maria Vasquez Guzman and Does 1 to 50 (Case No.: 2023CUPA012820). The lawsuit is a complaint for personal injuries alleging negligence.

The court filing reveals that the incident in question occurred when Marquez was thirteen years old. The plaintiff alleges that Guzman, a resident of Ventura County like himself, was negligent in her actions which led to his injury. The lawsuit also implicates Does 1 through 50 as agents of Guzman who were acting within their scope of agency at the time of the incident.

Marquez further alleges that Guzman was an employee or agent of Does 1 through 25 and that these defendants failed to adequately train and supervise her. He asserts that these entities are liable for Guzman's alleged negligent acts.

The plaintiff seeks redress for personal injuries sustained while he was lawfully riding his bicycle along Channel Islands Boulevard near Ventura Road in Port Hueneme, Ventura County, California on December 31, 2018. He claims that Guzman was operating an Acura bearing California license plate number 7YHC818 negligently which resulted in his injuries.
