In the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Ventura, Travis Martin has filed a lawsuit against Pastor Andrew Carroll, Andrew Carroll, Crystal Carroll, Kathleen Misewitch, Novo Mission Inc., and International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. The case number is 2023CUPPO17460 and was filed on December 11, 2023. The complaint alleges negligence and respondeat superior.

The plaintiff, Travis Martin, met defendants Andrew and Crystal in 2010 after his release from prison. His mother worked with Andrew at a local Foursquare church which led to their friendship. All defendants were aware that Martin was a registered sex offender who had previously served time for sexual conduct with a minor under 13.

From 2018 through 2021, Martin alleges that he spent alone time with two children from the Wald family while dating defendant Kathleen Misewitch. Despite their knowledge of his past, all defendants allegedly allowed him to spend several days a week alone with the children and go on trips to amusement parks.

Martin seeks damages for negligence and respondeat superior from all defendants. He claims that as clergy members and volunteers at the Foursquare church, they had an obligation to report any potential child abuse but failed to do so.
