Back to the antitrust future – Do attempts to fix prices violate the Sherman Act (and what else is new)? on November 30, 2022

Global law firm Reed Smith announced the addition of Andrew S. Wong as a partner in its Global Commercial Disputes Group, resident in Los Angeles.

Wong was formerly a partner with Dechert LLP in Los Angeles. With a focus on complex cross-border litigation, Wong represents companies in varied industries with many clients in the retail, energy, and technology sectors. He also represents leading international and domestic companies in the financial, food and beverage, manufacturing, and transportation industries in litigation.

“Andrew deepens our bench in cross-border commercial litigation,” said Janet Kwuon, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Commercial Disputes Group. “In terms of industry focus and geography, his practice is well aligned with our platform, especially with our significant presence in Asia.”

Wong has longstanding relationships in Asia, and a significant part of his practice is advising Asian clients on U.S. litigation strategy and U.S. clients involved in litigation in Asia. He counsels many Asian clients on general business strategy and provides litigation risk analysis.

“Reed Smith’s full-service offices in Los Angeles, extensive presence in Asia, culture of collaboration, and team approach are a combination that will help me expand my practice,” said Wong. “Most importantly, my clients will have access to large and geographically diverse practices in labor and employment, insurance recovery, FCPA, and export compliance, which are key to many of their businesses.”

In addition to building an extensive private practice, Wong maintains an active pro bono practice and is an active participant in the SoCal community, where he serves as an elected member of the Pomona Unified District School Board. His community engagement includes service on numerous nonprofit boards and he has been a gubernatorial appointee to two state-wide California commissions. In addition to building a significant commercial litigation practice at Dechert, he chaired its firmwide Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Wong received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. summa cum laude, from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Dechert in 2011, he was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe from 2004 to 2011, and prior to that, an associate at both Howrey and at O’Melveny & Myers.
