Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.

Two Troutman Pepper attorneys have been selected to serve on advisory boards with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Molly DiRago, CIPP/US, will join the Privacy Bar Section Advisory Board, and Sadia Mirza, CIPP/US, CIPM, will join the Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board for terms beginning January 1, 2022.

DiRago, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Chicago office, litigates complex commercial matters, focusing on biometrics and privacy, class actions, and consumer fraud. In addition to litigation, she counsels clients on privacy policies, including on the collection of biometric data (fingerprints, retina scans, etc.), and has written articles and spoken on privacy and technology issues, including Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act. She is editor of the firm’s More Privacy, Please, a monthly newsletter recapping industry and legal developments in the areas of cybersecurity, information governance, and privacy.

Mirza, an attorney in Troutman Pepper’s Orange County office, counsels clients on cutting-edge privacy and cybersecurity issues. Clients turn to her for privacy compliance counseling, pre-incident response planning and preparedness, and also call her when the first sign of a security incident/data breach appears. Given her years of experience coaching clients through security incidents, Mirza is heavily involved with data breach regulatory and litigation matters, which gives her a 360-view and understanding of the issues most important and relevant to her clients. Her experience, leadership, and frequent media contributions regarding new and emerging privacy and data security laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act) makes her a well-recognized thought leader in the field. In 2021, she also was selected to serve on the Program Committee for the RSA Conference, which is the largest global event focused on the cybersecurity community.

The IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource. Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a not-for-profit organization that helps define, promote, and improve the privacy profession globally.
