FRESNO -- A woman is suing her former employer for 18 different violations she claims to have encountered while working.

Stacey Journagan filed a complaint on June 21 in Fresno County Superior Court against California Forensic Medical Group, Incorporated, Wellpath Management, Inc., and multiple individuals associate with both companies, for discrimination, violations of FEHA, harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, denial of CFRA leave, failure to accommodate, unfair competition, unlawful deduction of wages and failure to pay wages in a timely manner.

According to the complaint, on October 15, 2018, Defendants hired Journagan as a Psychiatric Technician, until her termination on Sept. 18, 2020. During her employment, Journagan alleges that she suffered multiple instances of discrimination based on her age, 52, her race and other factors.

Journagan alleges that after complaining about the harassment and hostile work environment, along with HIPAA violations by co-workers and not being allowed to take her breaks, supervisors threatened to "strike" her and no remedial action was taken. In May 2020, Journagan's mother suffered a heart attack and she asked to go on leave to help take care of her but was denied, the suit says.

On August 7, 2020, all employees were given an evaluation and a raise, except for Journagan, she says. On Sept. 18, 2020, Journagan tried to schedule another meeting about her continued harassment and experiences while working, and was terminated during the meeting, she says.

Journagan seeks exemplary and punitive damages, back and front pay, restitution, attorney's fees and cost of suit. Journagan is represented by Bobby Saadian of Wilshire Law Firm.
