LOS ANGELES - A California nonprofit brought Micrometals Inc. to federal court for allegedly violating the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, the Clean Water Act and California storm water permits.

The complaint was filed by plaintiff Orange County Coastkeeper on April 13 in the Central California District Court. The nonprofit accuses the defendant of wrongfully expelling pollutants into the water at its industrial facility at 5615 E. La Palma in Anaheim.

The defendant allegedly discharged its pollutants through the Anaheim and Orange County storm drain system that empties into the Santa Ana River and then the Pacific at Huntington Beach State Park.

According to the complaint, the pollutants the defendant expels include aluminum, iron, zinc, copper, abrasive grits, anti-corrosive compounds, paint, scrap metal, lubricants, sealants and many others.

The plaintiff is represented by in-house counsel.
