Bureau of Labor Statistics announces June CPI decrease for Los Angeles
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that in June, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles area decreased by 0.2 percent due to lower gasoline prices. Over the past year, the CPI-U increased by 3.2 percent, with food prices rising 3.1 percent and energy prices falling 1.2 percent.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for the Los Angeles area recorded a 0.7% increase in March 2024 and a 4.0% rise over the past year, predominantly due to escalating shelter costs. Nationwide increases were 0.4% in March 2024 and 3.5% over the last year.
