Katie Bellucci, a nanny, has filed a lawsuit against an NFL cornerback in the Ventura Superior Court on March 17, 2025. The complaint accuses the defendant of failing to pay wages and reimburse expenses incurred while she cared for his children during the summer of 2024. Bellucci claims that despite repeated requests for payment, the defendant has refused to compensate her for her services.
According to the complaint, Bellucci was hired by Troy Hill as a nanny to watch his three children while he was engaged in work-related activities. The agreement stipulated that she would be paid $45 per hour with overtime at $67.50 per hour, along with reimbursement for any expenses incurred on behalf of Hill and his children. However, after initially adhering to this payment structure, Hill allegedly stopped paying Bellucci altogether from May 2024 onwards. Despite working over 48 hours in her final week of employment and submitting receipts totaling $251.64 for groceries purchased on behalf of Hill's family, Bellucci claims she received no compensation or reimbursement.
The lawsuit details several alleged violations of California labor laws by Hill, including failure to pay minimum wages, overtime compensation, and wages upon termination. Additionally, it accuses him of fraudulently inducing Bellucci to work under false pretenses with no intention of paying her for her services. "Defendant’s conduct is reprehensible," states the complaint, highlighting how these actions have caused Bellucci severe emotional distress and made her question continuing her career as a nanny.
Bellucci seeks various forms of relief from the court including compensatory damages for unpaid wages and expenses, punitive damages for fraud and emotional distress caused by Hill's actions, statutory penalties under California Labor Code sections related to wage payment violations, attorney fees and costs associated with pursuing legal action against Hill.
The case is being handled by Thomas Wheeler Esq., representing Katie Bellucci as her attorney. The presiding judge over this matter is yet to be determined but will be part of the Ventura Superior Court system where Case No: 2025 CUME0040467 has been assigned.
