Holly Nevlin, a former employee of a sports bar, has filed a lawsuit alleging severe workplace harassment and discrimination. On February 11, 2025, Nevlin's legal team from Manukyan Law Firm submitted the complaint to the Superior Court of California in Ventura County against Moorpark Dugout, LLC.
The complaint outlines a series of troubling incidents that began when Nevlin started working as a server and bartender at Moorpark Dugout in December 2022. According to the lawsuit, she was subjected to persistent harassment by a regular customer named Wade Savage, who was reportedly close friends with the bar's owner, Randy Pennant. Despite Nevlin's repeated complaints about Savage's behavior—which included whistling at her suggestively and taking unauthorized photographs—Pennant allegedly ignored her concerns and instructed her to continue serving him. The situation escalated to the point where Nevlin experienced severe anxiety and even collapsed at work due to stress.
Nevlin claims that after reporting these incidents to both Pennant and the general manager, George, no immediate action was taken to address her grievances. Instead, she faced retaliation for voicing her concerns. In November 2024, after informing Pennant that she could no longer tolerate Savage’s harassment, she was told that Savage would be allowed to drink in the back office instead—a solution Nevlin found unsatisfactory. Shortly thereafter, she was terminated from her position.
The lawsuit accuses Moorpark Dugout of multiple violations under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), including creating a hostile work environment based on sex discrimination and failing to prevent such an environment. Additionally, it alleges violations of whistleblower protection laws under California Labor Code §1102.5 and wrongful termination in violation of public policy.
Nevlin is seeking damages exceeding $25,000 for lost wages and benefits due to her wrongful termination. She also requests punitive damages for emotional distress caused by the hostile work environment and subsequent retaliation. Furthermore, she demands injunctive relief compelling Moorpark Dugout to reinstate her position and implement preventive measures against future misconduct.
Representing Holly Nevlin are attorneys Edgar Manukyan and Jirair Jerry Boyadzhyan from Manukyan Law Firm. The case is being overseen by Judge Arenaia I. McCormick under Case ID 2025 CLVWT OS51385.
