Karin L. Bohmholdt and Mathew S. Rosengart, shareholders in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Los Angeles office, were each named a “Leading Commercial Litigator” by the Daily Journal. The annual award honors the best commercial and bet-the-company litigators across the country, according to the publication.
Bohmholdt is known for guiding clients through complex litigations and has a lengthy record of victories at trial courts and on appeal. Considered one of Greenberg Traurig’s leading appellate attorneys, Bohmholdt is the go-to lawyer for her colleagues across the firm in matters involving California or Ninth Circuit appeals. Her areas of concentration include Fiduciary Litigation and Financial Services as well as an Appellate Practice in both state and federal courts. Following a clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Bohmholdt obtained experience in a wide variety of litigation and appellate matters, including real estate disputes, financial services and banking litigation, trust and estate matters, class actions, employment matters, securities law, ADA matters, public entity representation, and Federal False Claims actions. Bohmholdt’s appellate experience also includes obtaining and defending orders compelling arbitration; agency appeals; wide-ranging motion practice in the state and federal appellate courts; and writ and permissive appeal practice in state and federal court. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, teaching Legal Drafting, and has also taught Appellate Advocacy in the past.
Rosengart, a former Justice Department trial attorney, was recently recognized as one of the Top 200 lawyers in the nation by Forbes, which described him as a “revered” litigator who “brings the passion and legal expertise to private practice that made him notable as a federal prosecutor,” and has been listed twice as a litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. He was also named 2024’s Entertainment Litigator of the Year by Benchmark Litigation, which recognizes “the country’s most distinguished litigators … for their exemplary work,” according to the publication; he has again been shortlisted for the 2025 award, with winners announced March 6. Rosengart has been previously recognized by the Daily Journal as a Leading Commercial Litigator, California Lawyer Attorney of the Year (CLAY), and a Top 100 Lawyer in the Golden State as well as a Top Litigator & Trial Attorney by the Los Angeles Business Journal, which honors “masters of their craft” who “go to the proverbial mat for their clients.” He works on litigation matters with far-reaching national impact, such as representing philanthropist and actor Sean Penn’s global crisis relief organization CORE in a recent trial victory against the NLRB. Penn has previously described Rosengart as “a tough as nails streetfighter with a big brain and bigger principles.” Among other accolades, Rosengart has been named a “Media & Entertainment MVP” by Law360, Litigator of the Week by The American Lawyer, and Lawyer of the Year by Above the Law. He is also a recipient of the Power of Law Award from Variety and the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Excellence in Advocacy Award for legal excellence and philanthropy.
