Holland & Knight has strengthened its labor and employment and litigation practices with the addition of Stephen E. Baumann II as a partner in the Firm’s Denver and Los Angeles offices. Mr. Baumann was previously a shareholder with Littler Mendelson.

Mr. Baumann partners with employers of all sizes to address and resolve employment and traditional labor issues throughout the employment life cycle, from hiring and performance management to corrective action and separation of employment. He provides counsel on employment agreements, employment policies, protection of trade secrets, restrictive covenant agreements and other issues confronting employers. He also maintains a robust litigation practice in federal and state courts nationwide, including complex litigation involving trade secrets, non-compete agreements and non-solicit agreements, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, failure-to-accommodate and wrongful termination.
Mr. Baumann was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in 2025 for both Employment Law – Management and Litigation – Labor and Employment, and was named a Stand-out Lawyer by Thomson Reuters in 2024.

Mr. Baumann earned a J.D. degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and California.
