In a sweeping legal action, a group of California residents has accused a digital solutions company of orchestrating an elaborate investment fraud scheme. The plaintiffs, represented by the Law Offices of Mark A. Redmond and Salisbury Legal Corp., filed their complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, on January 14, 2025, targeting Jazzberry Digital Solutions Inc. as the defendant.
The lawsuit, spearheaded by attorneys Mark A. Redmond and Lawrence J. Salisbury, alleges that Jazzberry Digital Solutions Inc., headquartered in Simi Valley, engaged in fraudulent activities by misleading investors into purchasing unregistered securities. The plaintiffs include Noel Abitago, Laura Aceves, Barbrieka Adjei, and many others who claim they were deceived by false promises made by Jazzberry's CEO Brek Snyder. According to the complaint, Snyder assured investors of high returns on investments purportedly backed by gold, silver, cryptocurrencies, and Forex trading.
The plaintiffs allege that Snyder promised monthly returns of up to 15% for six-month terms or annual returns reaching $90,000 for larger investments. However, these promises turned out to be fictitious as none of the investors received the promised returns or even their initial investments back. "Snyder held himself out as the CEO with apparent authority," states the complaint, highlighting how his misrepresentations led numerous individuals to invest significant sums with Jazzberry under false pretenses.
The lawsuit claims that more than 100 investors have collectively lost over $1 million due to this fraudulent scheme. It further reveals that Jazzberry was not registered to offer or sell securities in any state and had been previously prohibited from such activities in Illinois for similar misconduct.
The plaintiffs are seeking substantial relief from the court including actual and direct losses amounting to $3,354,500 and compensatory damages totaling $4,350,000 for emotional distress caused by the fraud. Additionally, they are demanding punitive damages under California law to serve as a deterrent against such fraudulent practices.
This case is being closely watched as it unfolds in front of Judge Alex Lapez under Case No. 2U25CIIFROS 153 at Ventura Superior Court. The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys Mark A. Redmond and Lawrence J. Salisbury from their respective law firms based in San Diego.
