Eduardo Luis Munoz has filed a representative action lawsuit against Colorado Farms, LLC, alleging multiple violations of California labor laws. The complaint was filed on December 30, 2024, in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura. Munoz claims that Colorado Farms systematically violated labor regulations affecting him and other aggrieved employees.

The lawsuit centers around alleged labor code violations under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Munoz, who worked as an irrigation/watering worker for Colorado Farms from April 13, 2023, to July 19, 2024, asserts that the company engaged in practices such as requiring employees to work off-the-clock without compensation and failing to pay minimum and overtime wages. He further accuses the company of implementing policies that prevented accurate recording of work hours and failing to provide timely meal and rest breaks. "Defendant routinely failed to relieve Plaintiff and Aggrieved Employees of all duties during their meal periods," states the complaint.

Munoz alleges that these actions were part of a broader scheme by Colorado Farms to increase profits at the expense of employee rights. The complaint details how employees were often not compensated for missed or interrupted meal periods and rest breaks. Additionally, it claims that employees were required to report for work only to be sent home without adequate compensation.

The plaintiff seeks civil penalties under various sections of the California Labor Code for these alleged violations. These include penalties for failure to pay minimum wages, overtime compensation, provide meal and rest periods, furnish accurate wage statements, maintain payroll records, and pay reporting time wages. Munoz also seeks statutory attorneys' fees and costs associated with bringing this action forward.

Representing Eduardo Luis Munoz are attorneys Brendan J. Burton and Shadi Sahebghalam from Protection Law Group LLP. The case is presided over by Judge Alex Lopez under Case No.: 2OPACIUOEODS4996.
