A former employee has filed a lawsuit against her previous employer, alleging multiple violations of labor laws. Samantha Alvarado initiated the complaint on November 12, 2024, in the Superior Court of California for Ventura County against Apreet & Sonz Inc. The lawsuit accuses the company of failing to pay owed wages and violating several provisions of the California Labor Code.

The plaintiff, Samantha Alvarado, claims that during her employment with Apreet & Sonz Inc., she was subjected to unlawful employment practices that resulted in significant financial losses. Alvarado alleges that the company did not compensate her for all hours worked, including time spent under their direction and control. The complaint states that "the Defendant employed Plaintiff in Ventura County" and enforced policies that violated labor laws by not paying minimum wages for all hours worked. Alvarado further contends that she was denied meal and rest breaks as required by law, stating that she was "not permitted the opportunity to take meal or rest breaks while working for the Defendant." As a result, she claims she was not paid premiums for these missed breaks.

The lawsuit outlines several causes of action against Apreet & Sonz Inc., including failure to pay wages upon termination and engaging in unfair business practices. Alvarado seeks damages exceeding $25,000, restitution for unpaid wages, penalties as provided by California law, and injunctive relief prohibiting the defendant from continuing these practices. She also requests attorney fees and costs associated with pursuing this legal action.

Representing Samantha Alvarado are attorneys Mac E. Nehoray and Kambiz Drake from Southern California Attorneys APC, along with Thomas Wheeler. The case is being heard in front of a judge at the Ventura Superior Court under Case No. 2024CUGEO3 3083.
