A former employee has filed a class action lawsuit against a California car dealership, alleging multiple labor law violations. The complaint was filed by Hamid Deghan on September 6, 2024, in the Ventura Superior Court against R & A Alexander Investments, LLC.

Deghan claims that during his employment from August to October 2023, he and other similarly situated employees were subjected to numerous labor violations. These include failure to pay minimum and overtime wages, failure to provide required meal and rest periods, and failure to reimburse for necessary business expenses. "Defendant's uniform policy and practice not to pay Plaintiff and other California Class Members for all time worked is evidenced by Defendant's business records," the complaint states. Deghan also alleges that the dealership manipulated timekeeping records and issued inaccurate wage statements.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief including an injunction to prevent future violations, compensation for unpaid wages, statutory penalties, and reimbursement for business expenses. Additionally, Deghan demands up to thirty days of pay as a penalty for not timely paying all wages due at termination.

Representing Deghan are attorneys Jean-Claude Lapuyade, Sydney Castillo-Johnson, Perssia Razma from JCL Law Firm APC, and Shani O. Zakay from Zakay Law Group APLC. The case is presided over by Judge Brenda L. McCormick under Case No: 2024CUOQE029973.
