Eddie Hairston has filed a lawsuit against Industrial Tectonic Bearings Corp., RBC Bearings, Inc., and Amy Chu in the Court of Appeal of the State of California, Second Appellate District. The case ID is B322797 and was filed on April 16, 2024. The lawsuit pertains to employment-related claims where the defendants moved to compel arbitration based on an alleged agreement.

Hairston sought employment with Industrial on October 10, 2005, and began working for them on October 14, 2005. He held various positions before his employment was allegedly terminated in December 2020. The lawyers representing the defendants are Elizabeth L. Bradley, Ryan D. Saba, and Francesca N. Dioguardi from Rosen Saba while Carney R. Shegerian, Anthony Nguyen, John David, and Aletheia Preston from Shegerian & Associates represent Hairston.

The lawsuit was initiated by Hairston on March 23, 2022. On June 21, 2022, the defendants filed a motion to compel arbitration of Hairston’s claims pursuant to the arbitration provision of Hairston’s application for employment which Hairston opposed.

Hairston seeks judgment against the defendants' motion to compel arbitration as he argues that the purported agreement either expired by its own terms or is ambiguous at best. The trial court denied defendants’ motion agreeing with Hairston's argument that the agreement is ambiguous regarding how long its terms are binding on the parties.
