In a case filed at the Ventura Superior Court, plaintiff Jose Madriz, represented by attorneys Dennis Price, Amanda Seabock, and Sara Johnson of Seabock Price APC, is suing George Hroundas and Bobbi’s Mexican Food, LLC for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Unruh Civil Rights Act. The case number is 2023CUCRO17172 and was filed on November 29, 2023.

Madriz alleges that he encountered barriers to access when he visited Bobbi's Mexican Food facility located at 302 N Lantana St Ste 45, Camarillo, CA in August 2023. The defendant George Hroundas is identified as the owner of the property where the restaurant operates. The lawsuit states that these are not just small or “technical” violations but actual barriers to access that may cause difficulties, discomfort, embarrassment or outright injury to those with disabilities.

The complaint details that defendants failed to design, maintain, construct, and operate the Bobbi's Mexican Food facility in compliance with applicable accessibility laws. Defendants also include Does 1-10 who owned or operated the place of accommodation during August 2023 and currently.

Madriz seeks damages and injunctive relief for these alleged violations. He argues that defendants had an ongoing obligation to assess, identify, remove all barriers to access where readily achievable to do so and implement the most accessible alternative when full compliance is not readily achievable.
