Alejandrina Retana sues Peter E. Hall for wrongful death based on negligence

In the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, plaintiffs Alejandrina Retana and Andriak Lares, represented by Trevor Quirk of Quirk Law Firm, LLP, have filed a lawsuit against Peter E. Hall, Peter E. Hall Construction, Amlap Circle Properties, Michael Perrett, Matthew Perrett, Gretchen Bradvica, Ellen Rueth and other unknown entities. The case (ID: 2023CUPP014723) was filed on September 29th, 2023 and seeks damages for wrongful death based on negligence and premises liability among other charges.

The plaintiffs allege that defendant Peter E. Hall continued to conduct business under his construction company despite his contractor's state license expiring in 2000. They also claim that Hall cancelled his worker's compensation insurance in 2007 but continued employing workers for the next 16 years. Additionally, it is alleged that Hall cancelled his Contractor's Bond in 2001 but carried on with business activities requiring such a bond for the next 22 years.

Retana and Lares are seeking punitive damages pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure §3294 & for pain, suffering and disfigurement pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure §377.34.
