Steven Zadravecz, a partner in the Firm's Labor & Employment Practice, has been elected as a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a nonprofit professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by a labor and employment lawyer's colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication, and excellence. Fourteen Jones Day lawyers are Fellows in the College.
Resident in the Firm's Irvine and Los Angeles offices, Mr. Zadravecz is a trial lawyer who has prevailed in multiple jury trials in a variety of employment-related cases. He is sought out by clients for his skills and experience representing companies in complex trade secret misappropriation matters, and defending employers in state and federal discrimination, retaliation, and harassment matters, with a recent focus on cases involving claims of systematic discrimination. He also has significant class and representative action experience in wage and hour litigation, serving as lead counsel in high-profile California wage and hour class and representative actions, including matters involving claims of meal and rest breaks violations, failure to pay overtime or provide accurate wage statements, and unique wage and hour issues that continue to evolve under the ever changing landscape of California and national wage and hour laws.
"Steve has more than 25 years of experience representing employers in complex labor and employment matters, such as trade secret misappropriation, employee raiding, the enforcement of noncompetition agreements, and defending companies in all forms of discrimination and wage and hour actions," said Liz McRee, co-leader of the Firm's global Labor & Employment Practice. "He has long been a go-to litigator and successful trial lawyer for clients facing high-stakes employment disputes and this prestigious recognition by the College is well-deserved. I am proud to work alongside him at Jones Day and congratulate him on this honor."
Most recently, Mr. Zadravecz obtained a multimillion-dollar verdict for an employer in a trade secret misappropriation lawsuit and secured a complete defense verdict that was upheld on appeal for an employer in a discrimination/harassment lawsuit. He has been recognized for four consecutive years by the Daily Journal as one of California's "Top Trade Secret Lawyers," and has repeatedly been recognized by The Legal 500 in the area of trade secrets litigation, labor and employment disputes, and defense work. He frequently serves as a guest speaker at conferences for employers and management groups and regularly publishes on developing employment law issues.
