The California 4th District Court of Appeal reported the following activity in the suit brought by
Ida O'Neil against
Deborah Kistler on April 24: 'Order Filed. For Good Cause Shown, Kevin O'neil Is Ordered To Show Cause Why This Appeal Should Not Be Dismissed. Mr. O'neil Claims To Be The Guardian Ad Litem Of Ida O'neil And Is Attempting To Appear In The Instant Action On Her Behalf. However, In General, Guardians Ad Litem Who Are Not Attorneys May Not Appear In Pro Per. (see J.w. V. Superior Court (1993) 17 Cal.app.4th 958, 966-967.) And Mr. O'neil Does Not Appear To Be A Licensed California Attorney. As Such, This Court Orders The Parties To File Simultaneous Letter Briefs, On Or Before May 4, 2023, Addressing Whether Mr. O'neil Has The Legal Authority To Appear In This Court On Behalf Of Ida O'neil, And, If Not, Whether The Appeal Should Be Dismissed. The Court Shall Consider This Issue At The Oral Argument Of This Matter On Wednesday, May 10, 2023.'.
