McGuireWoods partner Lisa Atty has been named to L.A. Business First’s 2022 “Women of Influence” list, an honor reserved for 10 women business leaders in the Los Angeles area for professional achievements, mentoring and commitment to their communities.
Based in the firm’s Century City office, Atty represents companies in the purchase and sale of real property and commercial leasing of office, retail, warehouse and industrial space. She has negotiated and finalized thousands of commercial leases and assisted clients in acquiring and disposing of billions of dollars’ worth of real property.
Her notable deals include representation of an international self-storage real estate investment trust in a $1.8 billion acquisition in 2021, which included 49 properties and increased the company’s footprint by 4.2 million square feet of rentable space in the mid-Atlantic region.
Atty has a significant pro bono practice and has been a leader for underrepresented groups in the legal community. She chairs McGuireWoods’ Los Angeles Women Lawyers Network and co-chairs the firm’s new Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) Lawyers Network. She also co-chairs the National Association of Women Lawyers Women in Real Estate Law affinity group and serves as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity mentor to law students.
“I am honored to be included in this group of accomplished business leaders and grateful to McGuireWoods for the opportunity to pursue important work that makes a real difference in our community,” Atty said.
Earlier this year, Atty was recognized as one of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Women of Influence: Attorneys.” In addition, GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum included Atty in a group of key McGuireWoods partners selected as a top team in its 2022 “Influencers in Retail Real Estate” feature.
“We all admire Lisa for her accomplishments as a lawyer and her contributions to our community,” said Alice Youngbar, managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Century City office. “This is a well-deserved honor for her hard work and talents as a leader.”
