Jackson Lewis P.C. issued the following announcement on Dec. 7.
Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Principals Christina Silva and Jack Schaedel have joined the firm, advancing the depth and breadth of its Litigation and Corporate Governance and Internal Investigations groups.
Christina has almost 30 years of experience in employment law representing management. She focuses her practice on workplace investigations, employer counseling and training. Christina frequently conducts workplace investigations involving alleged employee misconduct, renders findings and recommendations for employment action. She also conducts training of management and staff employees on anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies, workplace ethics, management best practices, company complaint and response mechanisms, performance management, and effective workplace investigations. Fully bilingual in Spanish, Christina translates and provides training presentations in Spanish, and conducts workplace investigations for clients with a Spanish-speaking workforce. Christina represents and defends companies and management employees in state and federal court, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights in employment law matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, breach and enforcement of restrictive covenants, whistleblower claims, and wrongful termination.
“Christina brings an impressive range of experience related to workplace investigations that will be a key addition to our growing practice,” said Co-Leader of Jackson Lewis’ Corporate Governance and Internal Investigations group and Berkeley Heights Office Managing Principal Richard J. Cino. “She is a highly regarded lawyer with impressive credentials and her experience will bolster our already strong employment team in New Jersey.”
Christina is the former vice-chair of Lum, Drasco & Positan, LLC’s Labor and Employment group. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from Villanova University.
Jack joined the firm from FordHarrison and has more than 25 years of experience pursuing his passion, which is advising California and nationwide employers and litigating on their behalf. He has advised and represented clients ranging from small start-up companies to large multinational corporations with more than 100,000 employees in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, professional services and hospitality. He has obtained favorable verdicts on behalf of these clients in high-stakes employment law matters involving wage/hour violations, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination.
While Jack is a seasoned litigator, a central focus of his practice is developing his clients’ ability to prevent, address and resolve issues before they advance to litigation. He routinely guides clients through the intricacies of state and federal statutes related to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour regulations, and family and medical leave. Jack also assists employers in the development of sound employment practices and comprehensive personnel handbooks and advises his clients on an ongoing basis on the myriad of workplace issues that arise on a given day. Jack’s labor relations experience includes representing companies in campaigns and elections, collective bargaining, unfair labor practice arbitrations, and day-to-day collective bargaining agreement administration.
Jack earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
“Jack is a seasoned litigator and we are thrilled he decided to join the firm,” said Los Angeles Office Managing Principal Nicky Jatana. “He has an excellent reputation of managing high-profile litigation and is a trusted adviser in the labor and employment space. Jack’s presence will greatly enhance our growing litigation team in Los Angeles.”
Jack is the second attorney to recently join the firm from FordHarrison, following the arrival of Principal Reynaldo Velazquez, who joined the firm’s Miami office in late November.
