Tressler LLP is proud to announce that Shannon Harvey, Stacey Wilkins, Maryam Arshad, Dibora Berhanu, Jamie Gende, Kathleen Hart and Katherine Letcher were selected as 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America©. Shannon Harvey: Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions - Defendants; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants

Partner

Shannon handles a wide variety of complex commercial and personal injury litigation with a focus on products liability and mass tort matters. She is a trial lawyer who is in state and federal Court every week and has successfully participated in numerous jury trials. Shannon is also very experienced with the mediation process and has successfully negotiated reasonable settlements in cases where liability and damages issues were strongly contested.

Stacey Wilkins: Insurance Law; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants

Partner

Stacey is an experienced courtroom attorney. Her litigation practice is focused primarily in the areas of general defense litigation, insurance coverage and municipal law. She has successfully defended individuals, corporations, public entities (including park districts and schools), public employees, and not-for-profit organizations, including child care centers and foster care/adoption agencies. Stacey has advised and represented individuals, personal and commercial lines insurance companies, self-insured risk pools, corporations, municipalities in a variety of litigated defense matters. Her practice includes both state and federal trial work as well as appellate work.  

Maryam Arshad: Appellate Practice; Insurance Law

Associate

Maryam is an associate in Tressler’s Orange County office in the Insurance Practice Group. She focuses her practice on insurance bad faith defense and coverage analysis. Prior to joining Tressler, as a law student, Maryam served as an intern at the U.S. Small Business Association. She was a member of the UC Irvine Law Review and the Journal of International, Transnational and Comparative Law. She also served as the Chapter Director of the International Refugee Assistance Program at UCI Law.  

Dibora Berhanu: Insurance Law

Associate

Dibora is an associate in the Insurance Practice Group and Local Government Practice Group. Dibora focuses her practice in the areas of insurance coverage analysis, insurance litigation and defense of local governments in tort and civil rights litigation. She has drafted coverage opinions, position letters, response letters and other insurance-related documents on behalf of insurers. Dibora also has experience in various phases of insurance coverage litigation, including drafting declaratory judgment complaints and dispositive motions.

Jamie Gende: Insurance Law; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants

Associate

Jamie is an associate in Tressler’s Insurance Practice Group. Her practice focuses on civil litigation and coverage work. She has experience in the areas of insurance defense litigation, including first and third-party liability claims, construction defect coverage litigation, subrogation claims and coverage analysis. Jamie has obtained favorable decisions at trial as well as appellate decisions in the areas of tort immunity, civil rights, and coverage issues involving criminal assaults, sexual abuse and premises liability.  Jamie has assisted in and has been second chair for both coverage and civil trials. She has frequently acted as defense counsel for non-profit and government entities in personal injury and wrongful death actions.

Kathleen Hart: Insurance Law; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants

Associate

Kathleen is an associate in the Insurance Practice Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of insurance coverage analysis and litigation. Kathleen has drafted coverage opinions, position letters, response letters and other insurance-related documents on behalf of insurers. She also has experience in various phases of insurance coverage litigation, including drafting declaratory judgment complaints and dispositive motions as well as appearing for oral arguments, and mediations. Kathleen has handled a wide range of issues involving several types of policies, including general liability, commercial auto, professional liability, advertisers liability, media, directors and officers liability, first party property, homeowners, umbrella, and workers compensation policies, among others. Kathleen has also assisted insurers in fraud investigation claims involving theft and arson and has experience handling UM/UIM claims.

Katherine Letcher: Insurance Law

Associate

Kate is a member of the firm’s litigation group and a committed courtroom lawyer. Her practice focuses on the representation of business owners, officers, directors and professionals in a wide range of business and professional liability litigation. As an experienced advocate, she represents clients in litigation in state and federal courts across the country. Kate’s experience in conflict resolution includes the representation of clients in alternative dispute resolution formats including mediation and arbitration.
