Dykema Gossett, PLLC issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that James (Jimmy) Azadian was named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). Azadian was selected for the LCA due to his nationally prolific work supporting trial teams as embedded appellate counsel.
The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellative levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership. The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level, or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism and ethical standards among its Fellows.
Azadian co-leads the firm’s national Appellate and Complex Motion Practice Group. His practice focuses on complex federal and state court litigation, raising cutting-edge and core business and constitutional issues. He has served as counsel in more than 270 appeals and writ proceedings covering a wide variety of industries and subjects across the country. Throughout his career, Azadian has been responsible for arguing cases that have had an immense impact on the law, some with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake.
Throughout his career, Azadian has received numerous professional accolades. He was recently named by The America Lawyer to its inaugural 2021 “West Trailblazers” list. In addition, Azadian was featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Thriving In Their 40’s” list and its 2020 “Leaders of Influence: Top Litigators & Trial Lawyers” list. The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal highlighted cases involving Azadian as part of California’s “Top Appellate Reversals of 2019,” and as a “Top Defense Verdicts of 2020.”
Azadian earned a J.D. from the Pepperdine University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He clerked for Ninth Circuit Judge Consuelo Maria Callahan and U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia, Ricardo Manuel Urbina.
