FRESNO - A Fresno County woman sued the City of Fresno and a Fresno police officer after the officer allegedly crashed into her car last year.

According to the complaint field on April 1 in the Fresno County Superior Court, plaintiff Emilia Lizeth Rivera Silva was traveling in her vehicle near the intersection of Jensen Ave. and Chestnut Ave. on Sept. 5, 2020, when defendant Officer Nathaniel Adrian Esparza crashed his police vehicle into her car.

Silva alleges that Esparza was negligently and carelessly operating the vehicle and that she was at no fault for the accident; the city has ignored Silva's claim for damages resulting in the lawsuit.

Silva is requesting judgment against the defendants through lost wages, injury, cost of suit and other damages.

The plaintiff is represented by Rafii and Associates PC.
