Alleged sexual assault brings civil charges against Calif. Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation

FRESNO - A March 18 lawsuit against the State of California, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) and DCR Captain Robert Downey Jr. alleges sexual and physical assault, according to documents filed in the Fresno County Superior Court. 

Plaintiff Rudy Ramos worked for the defendants as a correctional officer. He says that he was sexually and physically assaulted by defendant Downey on August 30, 2019, while at work. 

The defendants are charged with sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, negligence per se and Fair Employment and Housing Act violation. Ramos demands a jury trial to determine the amount of damages he is entitled to.

The plaintiff is represented by Adams, Ferrone and Ferrone APLC.
