Mayer Brown announced that it has expanded its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice with the addition of two highly regarded trial lawyers: veteran US Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor Jason Linder, who joins the firm as a partner in Los Angeles and Washington DC, and leading securities litigator Glenn Vanzura, who joins the firm as a partner in Los Angeles. Both partners were previously with Irell & Manella LLP, where Mr. Linder was head of that firm’s Global Investigations and Anti-Corruption practice.

His arrival continues the growth of our national investigation and enforcement capabilities, including in Los Angeles and Washington DC. Mr. Linder advises corporations and executives on government and regulatory actions, internal investigations and corporate compliance matters, and white collar criminal defense. As a federal prosecutor for more than a decade, Mr. Linder most recently served as a senior trial attorney in the DOJ’s FCPA unit in Washington DC. There, he led some of the department’s most important and sophisticated international white collar criminal investigations, focusing particularly on matters involving FCPA and securities fraud violations. He tried numerous cases, argued before the federal courts of appeal, and served as lead trial counsel in a number of high-profile white collar matters. He acquired deep expertise in anti-corruption and other investigations in Asia, Latin America, and around the world, and in every significant business sector. Previously, Mr. Linder served as an assistant US attorney in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. He began his career in private practice.
Mr. Vanzura focuses his practice on securities class action and derivative litigation, SEC investigations and enforcement actions, complex business litigation, white collar criminal defense and internal corporate investigations. He has represented corporations, directors, officers and other individuals in some of the country’s most significant bet-the-company litigations across a variety of industries. Before entering private practice, Mr. Vanzura specialized in securities and antitrust matters at Cornerstone Research, an economics and litigation consulting firm.

Mr. Linder and Mr. Vanzura are highly active in the community. Mr. Linder serves as the national vice chair of the American Bar Association’s White Collar Crime Committee, an officer of the International Bar Association’s Business Crime Committee, and a board member of both the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He has represented pro bono both domestic violence victims and a proposed class of Los Angeles homeowners fighting a county tax assessment program. Mr. Vanzura’s community activities include service on the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Judicial Elections Evaluation Committee. He has also dedicated himself to pro bono matters, including the representation of low-income tenants and former members of the US armed services.
