A former employee has taken legal action against a prominent law firm, alleging severe workplace discrimination and wrongful termination. On April 3, 2025, Ikbal A. Khan filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura, accusing Keller, Fishback & Jackson LLP of multiple violations including age and race discrimination.

Ikbal A. Khan, a seasoned Medical-Legal Consultant hired by Keller, Fishback & Jackson LLP on March 15, 2023, claims he was wrongfully terminated due to his age and race. At 69 years old and of South Asian descent, Khan alleges that despite assurances of long-term employment focused on asbestos exposure cases and consistent commendations for his work performance, he was unexpectedly dismissed after just three months. The lawsuit states that he was replaced by a younger Caucasian female employee. "His services were no longer needed," he was told—a decision Khan argues is rooted in discriminatory practices violating the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA).

Khan's complaint outlines several causes of action against the defendants: age discrimination under Government Code §12940(a), race discrimination under the same code section, wrongful termination in violation of public policy, failure to prevent discrimination as required by California Government Code §12940(k), failure to pay overtime wages per California Labor Code §§510 and 1194, violation of wage and hour laws regarding waiting time penalties under Labor Code §§202 and 203, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He asserts that these actions have caused him significant financial hardship and emotional distress.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages for lost earnings and benefits due to his sudden unemployment. He also demands punitive damages for the alleged willful misconduct by the defendants aimed at punishing them for their actions. Additionally, Khan requests attorney’s fees and costs associated with bringing this case forward. His legal representation argues that Keller, Fishback & Jackson LLP's conduct was maliciously intended to harm Khan both financially and emotionally.

Representing Ikbal A. Khan is Fahim Rahman from the Law Office of Fahim Rahman based in Woodland Hills, CA. The case has been assigned Case No. 2025 CLT O41594 in the Superior Court of California with Judge Natalie Rosete presiding over initial proceedings.
