Tressler attorneys Karl P. Schlecht and Jihoon Kim successfully defended their client in appellate court regarding a real estate breach of contract matter. They were in charge of defending the trial court’s order granting summary judgment for their clients, the Defendants, in matter. The Plaintiff brought claims for (1) Promissory Estoppel; (2) Avoidance of Fraudulent Conveyance; (3) Quiet Title to Real Property; and (4) Unjust Enrichment, all arising from the alleged oral contract for sale of a house he was leasing from Defendants. The trial court granted summary judgment for Defendants finding that all four of Plaintiff’s claims failed as matters of law. Plaintiff tried to inject new arguments into his appeal to overturn the trial court’s granting summary judgment, but the appellate court was not convinced. The appellate court denied the appeal and affirmed the trial court’s decision.
Congratulations, Karl and Jihoon!
