Thompson Coburn partners Rich Reinis and Jenny Ecklund were recently recognized by ALM at prestigious industry events.
Rich was awarded as a “Distinguished Leader” winner at the California Legal Awards on October 15. This award honors legal professionals who have made significant strides in their careers. In a Q&A profile in The Recorder, Rich discussed his career highlights, the evolving legal landscape, advice for aspiring lawyers, and his leadership style.
“The first thing to keep in mind is simply to listen. In the restaurant business or in the law, I've learned you have to listen to what your customers, employees and clients tell you, and ask open-ended questions,” said Rich. “Be present, and find out what you don't know from the people who do. You also have to be transparent.”
Jenny was named a finalist for Texas Lawyer’s Influential Woman of the Year Award at the Texas Legal Awards on October 15. In a recent interview, she discussed her accomplishments in helping to build Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and provided guidance to aspiring lawyers.
“I am exceptionally proud of the work I have done as hiring partner to build the Dallas office of Thompson Coburn from four female partners to almost 30 lawyers in the past four years, particularly because of the continuing and deep work and commitment to diversity in our office and the impact of the pandemic during that time,” said Jenny. “We wanted to build a home for sophisticated legal work where attorneys of all backgrounds felt seen and supported, and seeing those efforts come to life has been fulfilling.”
