Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Mia Farber has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a 2024 Leader of Influence: Litigators & Trial Attorneys. The list recognizes the “very best litigators who go to the proverbial mat to fight for their clients before judges and jury” in the Los Angeles region.
“Mia exemplifies the “firm-minded” approach expected of Jackson Lewis attorneys,” said Los Angeles Office Managing Principal Nicky Jatana. “Her extensive experience handling complex class and PAGA claims, as co-leader of the firm’s national Class Actions and Complex Litigation practice group and leader of the firm’s California Class and PAGA practice group, highlights her exceptional litigation skills. We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.”
Mia is a principal in the firm’s Los Angeles, California, office. She has represented employers in all types of employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA actions, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Mia also has extensive experience arbitrating employment disputes. She regularly handles both judicial and private employment dispute mediations on behalf of employers.
Mia is a thought leader and trusted adviser for clients regarding the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), which has dramatically increased exposure to risk and the number of employment litigation claims in California. Her role is imperative for employers facing California’s Labor Code, which presents distinct and complex issues when defending wage and hour class actions. Within the last 12 months, she has been successful in getting individual PAGA matters compelled into arbitration and non-individual PAGA claims stayed on behalf of clients. She frequently negotiates settlements for clients who are facing sensitive, confidential matters.
“I am humbled to be included in this list alongside so many distinguished and influential attorneys,” said Mia. “At Jackson Lewis, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of excellence and dedication, both to our clients and to each other, and I am grateful to work for a firm that has embedded this value within its culture.”
Mia earned her J.D. from the Loyola Law School Los Angeles and her B.A. from Pitzer College.
