Miller Liu filed a lawsuit against Lanterprise, Inc. in the Second Appellate District Division Seven of the California Court of Appeal. The case, identified as B330782 and filed in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County (Case No. 20PSCV00849), was submitted on April 25, 2024. The lawsuit revolves around a breach of contract and intentional destruction of property related to construction work performed by Lanterprise.
Representing himself, Liu alleges that Lanterprise failed to complete the construction of an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on his property despite receiving payments totaling $170,000 towards the projected costs of $180,000. Additionally, he accuses Lanterprise of attempting to charge him an extra $21,965 for outside improvements included in the initial contract.
On February 21, 2020, Lanterprise had previously filed a complaint against Liu and his wife for breach of contract over unpaid services rendered amounting to at least $25,000. On January 12, 2021, a default judgment was entered in favor of Lanterprise awarding them $25,000 in damages and $503.70 in costs.
Liu is seeking judgment for breach of contract and intentional destruction of property caused by Lanterprise during the construction process. He claims that Lanterprise drilled a hole in one of the new metal pipes causing water leakage and removed an expensive electrical breaker from the ADU.
