Edgar Vargas (CIPP/US), an associate in Troutman Pepper’s national Privacy + Cyber practice, will serve as a Young Privacy Professional (YPP) with the International Association of Privacy Professional’s (IAPP) Orange County KnowledgeNet Chapter. Each chapter features up to two YPPs, who serve one-year terms and help to bring the local privacy community together through free educational meetings and networking activities throughout the year.

Vargas assists clients on compliance and litigation issues, including issues regarding privacy and cybersecurity laws, and is particularly adept at helping businesses harness the power of data while mitigating potential risks. He is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to effectively communicate with and serve Spanish speaking clients.

The IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource. Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a not-for-profit organization that helps define, promote, and improve the privacy profession globally.

Troutman Pepper’s Privacy + Cyber practice has pioneered emerging issues relating to implementation and compliance, litigation, regulatory investigations, and incident response. The team has led some of the most high-profile litigation matters and regulatory enforcement actions and is uniquely positioned to address emerging privacy and cyber issues that the world — and the law — have never had to confront before.
