In the lawsuit of Chandana Basu versus Narinder S. Grewal and others, filed in the Second Appellate District Division Five court of California, case ID B318575, on April 19, 2024, plaintiff Chandana Basu appeals a judgment of dismissal. The Superior Court of Los Angeles County's Judge Malcolm H. Mackey initially presided over the case.

The dispute involves defendants Narinder S. Grewal, his medical corporation Narinder S. Grewal M.D., Inc., Jeremy Arnaiz, and Michael Hemming. James W. Denison represents the plaintiff while Richard Pech from Law Offices of Richard Pech and Heidi M. Janz from Law Offices of Michael J. Hemming represent the defendants respectively. The case revolves around allegations that defendant Arnaiz tampered with trial exhibits during a prior lawsuit (LASC Case No. BC 427192), resulting in damages to Basu and her company PPJ Enterprises.

Basu claims that Arnaiz removed a report showing Grewal owed over $8 million from the trial exhibits which led to a verdict favoring Basu for only $300,000 in damages instead of the sought-after $35 million for breach of contract and fiduciary duty. She also alleges that Hemming was bribed with approximately $300,000 to not take corrective action regarding this misconduct.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against all three defendants for two counts of fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED), civil conspiracy and an additional count against Grewal for professional negligence.
