Food products maker Danone is facing a class-action lawsuit for allegedly mislabeling its Evian water products as containing "Natural Spring Water," while they are claimed to contain microplastics.

The lawsuit was first filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in February and later moved to L.A. federal court on March 25.

The plaintiff, Michael Dotson, alleges that Danone Waters of America LLC has violated Unfair Competition Law by falsely advertising and labeling its products. The suit argues that the company's products, specifically Evian bottled water, are not naturally occurring as they contain microplastics - small plastic particles that originate from manufacturing and physical degradation of plastics.

Dotson seeks damages, injunctive relief, and any other available legal or equitable remedies for the alleged violations.

Plaintiffs are represented by Todd M. Friedman and Adrian R. Bacon from the Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman P.C., of Woodland Hills.
