A class action lawsuit accuses retail technology services company Trax of allegedly shorting worker pay among other alleged violations of California labor law.
The plaintiff, Ana Perez, filed the suit against Trax Retail Inc. on behalf of herself and all other allegedly similarly situated employees within California.
The allegations include failure to pay all minimum wages, overtime wages, provide rest periods and pay missed rest period premiums, provide meal periods and pay missed meal period premiums, maintain accurate employment records, pay wages timely during employment, pay all wages earned and unpaid at separation, indemnify all necessary business expenditures, furnish accurate itemized wage statements, and violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law.
The case was filed in San Diego County Superior Court on Jan. 16. The case was removed to San Diego federal court on Feb. 22.
The attorneys representing the plaintiff are Jonathan Melmed and Laura Supanich, from Melmed Law Group P.C., of Los Angeles.
The complaint covers a class period defined as four years prior to the filing of this action continuing into the present and ongoing.
The lawsuit seeks a court order directing Trax to pay allegedly unpaid wages and other unspecified damages, plus attorney fees.
