Luxottica, the eyewear giant that owns Lenscrafters and many other brands, is facing a class action lawsuit for allegedly allowing Meta, Facebook's parent company, to use tracking pixels to access personal information of visitors on the Lenscrafters website.

The lawsuit was filed on Jan. 23 in Los Angeles federal court by named plaintiff Brandon Gray, of La Habra, on behalf of himself and others allegedly similarly situated.

The complaint alleges that Luxottica conspired with Facebook to intercept communications sent and received by Gray and other class members, including those containing protected medical information.

The plaintiffs assert the alleged conduct amounts to violations of California privacy laws.

They are seeking unspecified compensatory damages, plus punitive damages and attorney fees.

The plaintiff's are represented by attorneys L. Timothy Fisher and Brittany S. Scott, from Bursor & Fisher P.A., of Walnut Creek.
