US Foods, a major food supplier, has filed a lawsuit against several Teamsters union locals, accusing them of engaging in illegal strikes.

The company alleges that the unions violated their collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), which explicitly prohibit such strikes while the CBAs are in effect.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Jan. 12 by attorneys Thomas J. Posey and Janine E. Raduechel, of the firm of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, of Los Angeles, on behalf of US Foods.

The defendants include International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local Union No. 87, No. 542, No. 630, No. 848, No. 986 and Teamsters Automotive, Industrial, Theme Park, Service Sector, and Allied Workers Local No. 495.

US Foods is seeking damages resulting from the alleged illegal strikes among their members employed by US Foods.
