Kacey Riccomini Discusses California’s Workplace Violence Prevention Law

Webp 1

Kacey Riccomini | Thompson Coburn LLP

Thompson Coburn partner Kacey Riccomini authored a Today’s General Counsel article on what employers need to know about California’s workplace violence prevention law that became effective on January 1, 2024. Kacey details the requirements for employers, which includes enacting a workplace violence prevention plan, implementing timely procedures to correct workplace violence hazards, and what to include in a violent incident log, among other requirements.

“Given the complexities of the new law and the fact that workplace violence prevention plans will vary by industry, among other things, employers should work with their counsel to develop a workplace violence prevention plan and appropriate procedures to ensure compliance,” Kacey wrote.
