Bottled water company BlueTriton Brands, Inc. is facing a class action lawsuit filed by its employees accusing the firm of labor code violations including underpayment of wages.

The lawsuit was first filed in Riverside County Superior Court in October and has since been moved to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Nov. 20.

The lawsuit was filed by attorney Daniel J. Hyun, of Orange, on behalf of named plaintiff Nancy Asaad and on behalf of other employees who have allegedly experienced similar labor code violations.

The accusations include failure to pay all wages, provide meal periods or compensation, permit rest periods or provide compensation, provide accurate itemized wage statements and waiting time penalties, and alleged violation of California's Unfair Competition Law.

The lawsuit was brought under California's controversial Private Attorneys General Act, which empowers individual workers to stand in place of state regulators and bring lawsuits accusing employers of violating state labor laws, on behalf of all other employees.
