Webp award

Trophy | In collaboration with Katelyn Perry

Barnes & Thornburg honored several attorneys and business professionals through its annual service awards in November for their commitment to community service, pro bono efforts, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) activities, mentoring, and client service.

The 2023 awards and honorees are:

Rebecca E. Rosen, counsel in the Los Angeles office, received the Joseph A. Maley Pro Bono Award, established in memory of firm partner John R. Maley’s oldest son, Joseph, who passed away in 2008. Rosen has served as a liaison between pro bono clients and firm attorneys. Additionally, she has become significantly involved with two pro bono clients, Wags and Walks, a nonprofit organization working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters and increase awareness of rescue dogs, and Songs of Our Own, an original film production regarding deaf and hard-of-hearing concert attendees.

Ariyike O. Diggs, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta and New York offices, is the recipient of the Camille Conway Diversity Award. The award, named after the late Chicago partner Camille Conway, recognizes those in the firm who best demonstrate a commitment to diversity by cultivating and promoting initiatives that establish, foster and maintain a more inclusive and equitable work environment. A consistent supporter of the firm’s DEI initiatives, Diggs advocates for and participates in diversity efforts in the Atlanta office and the broader community. Diggs’ colleagues recognized her for her continual support, enthusiasm, honesty, and willingness to include all in the workplace.

Timothy Hudson, a partner in the Dallas office, is the recipient of the firm’s Kenneth H. Inskeep Mentoring Award for his devotion to associate attorney development. The award recognizes those who have exhibited selfless dedication to guiding firm talent, particularly new attorneys, through the legal field and law firm life, as well as serving as an example by encouraging others to get involved. Hudson has worked to ensure associates gain the experience they need to be successful in their careers. Hudson’s colleagues recognized him for his service to new attorneys and his advocacy for associate issues ranging from advancement, compensation, integration, personal well-being, and mental health.

William R. Boudreaux, a partner in the Ann Arbor office, is the recipient of the firm’s Client Service Award, which recognizes individuals or teams who have consistently demonstrated exceptional client service through being client-focused, providing the highest quality of legal services, and demonstrating professional behavior and collaboration. Boudreaux’s client-centric approach is an exemplary model for all attorneys to follow, his nominator said. He leverages his in-house experience to ensure that he and his colleagues consider how they provide legal guidance, offering to take the burden from clients’ legal departments as much as possible.

This year’s Commitment to Community Award was presented to Christina M. Baugh, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, and Jodie M. Daugherty, a senior marketing services manager in the Indianapolis office who also works with the Los Angeles, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and San Diego offices. Baugh’s service on the boards of several important organizations in Atlanta demonstrates her commitment to her community. The organizations she has led, including the Atlanta Bar Association, Federal Bar Association (Atlanta Chapter), and Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, provide vital services to the legal community and throughout the Atlanta community through DEI initiatives and many other philanthropic endeavors. With over 20 years at the firm, Daugherty is recognized for the impact she has made on the firm and the community. A critical go-to team member, Daugherty is known among her colleagues as a patient, kind, and graceful coach, mentor, and teacher who is always willing to lend a hand on a project, share a laugh, and be a source of strength and positivity.
