Since 2017, California healthcare employers have had to follow specific workplace violence safety rules to create a safe work environment pursuant to the requirements under the injury and illness prevention regulation. Now, beginning July 1, 2024, all employers in California will be required to comply with a workplace violence standard. The new standard enacted by Senate Bill 553 includes a significant list of requirements that employers must implement.

In the “California's New Workplace Violence Standards" webinar, we will cover:

  • Best strategies when faced with a potential workplace violence issue to avoid getting cited under the new Cal/OSHA standard (and the Federal General Duty Clause)
  • The new requirement to have a written workplace violence prevention plan
  • Best practices to train employees on how to identify and report workplace violence hazards
  • Understanding how to log workplace violence incidents
  • Best practices for when and how to obtain workplace violence restraining orders
  • Recordkeeping compliance
