As leader of the Trade Secrets Working Group in the firm’s intellectual property practice, Seth focuses on trade secret, restrictive covenant, and employee mobility matters. An accomplished lead trial lawyer, Seth has successfully defended complex mass departure cases to verdict after lengthy jury trials and has obtained and defeated motions for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in jurisdictions across the United States.
Seth’s recent courtroom victories include obtaining a complete defense verdict after a six-day jury trial in Portland, Oregon; securing the denial of a motion for preliminary injunction after a two-day evidentiary hearing in federal court in Arizona; and securing the denial of a motion for a business-stopping temporary restraining order in federal court in Illinois, after 26 reinsurance professionals left one brokerage firm to join another. Seth’s team also recently defeated a motion to dismiss or stay in a high-profile employee departure matter in California Superior Court and obtained orders denying the motion for reconsideration and denying a writ petition.
Seth serves on the steering committee of the Sedona Conference’s Trade Secrets - Working Group 12, and he frequently publishes articles and speaks on panels concerning trade secrets matters.
In addition to earning a spot on the Daily Journal’s Top Trade Secrets List this year, Seth was recognized by The Legal 500 as a Leading Lawyer for trade secrets work in 2023.
