At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, ICE issued temporary policies delaying the need for in-person inspection of employment eligibility and identity documents for new hires.
Those flexibilities end on July 31, 2023, and employers will then have 30 days in which to examine those materials for all employees who were onboarded through the remote protocols, including those who are still working remotely.
