Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Heidy Vaquerano, who was honored among the most Influential Latinos in Media by The Imagen Foundation, which advocates for the positive portrayal of Latinos in all forms of entertainment media.
The annual awards program recognizes executives of Latino descent in entertainment whose work has made a significant impact and strengthened Latino's presence and influence in the industry.
As a partner in Fox’s nationwide Entertainment & Sports Law Department, Vaquerano harnesses a deep understanding of law and technology to help clients capitalize on their talent and intellectual property to seize opportunities in media. Anticipating the impact of virtual reality on the entertainment space, she quickly became a go-to resource for negotiating NFT, web3 and blockchain deals for entertainment clients. Vaquerano is also the co-founder of Futuro, a soon-to-launch, cutting-edge NFT platform specifically for Latinx artists.
As a first-generation college graduate and daughter of immigrants, Vaquerano has long been involved in diversity initiatives in the Los Angeles community. She serves on the SXSW Pitch Advisory Board, using her extensive network in the BIPOC communities to recruit diverse startups in the music, entertainment and virtual reality industries. She has also served as a past Managing Director of Girls in Tech Los Angeles, organizing events to help bring racial and gender equity in tech to Los Angeles, and is a former member of the WiStem L.A. Advisory Board, an initiative launched by the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti to combat the barriers faced by women and BIPOC communities.
She earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School – where she currently serves as the first Latina member of the Board of Trustees – and B.A. from University of Southern California.
