Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Emily J. Yukich, who was named to the inaugural Top 100 Lawyers list by Los Angeles Business Journal.
The attorneys featured in this special spotlight “have demonstrated exceptional legal skill and achievements across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership and made contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.”
The Managing Partner of Fox’s Los Angeles Office, Yukich is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Emerging Companies & Venture Capital Practice Groups who serves clients in the technology, consumer products, manufacturing, food and beverage, construction and professional services sectors on a broad range of complex transactions. Taking a business-centered approach, she works with clients to secure financing that achieves their strategic goals, handling early stage funding for startups and growth and acquisition funding for mid-sized companies that are further along in their corporate lifecycle. She advises venture and angel capital investors on due diligence, negotiation of investment documents and other matters. She also handles mergers, acquisitions, general commercial transactions and provides advice on corporate governance.
As Vice President of the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) Board and Founder of Women in LAVA, Yukich is a visionary voice for women in the region’s startup ecosystem. Early in her legal practice, she became determined to make LAVA more accessible and welcoming to women. She founded Women in LAVA to give female entrepreneurs and service providers a voice within the group and a forum in which they could support each other. The new affinity group within LAVA drove a sharp increase in female members, who now make up about a third of the membership and the board.
Beyond her legal practice, Yukich is a volunteer board member of Believe In Big Change, a Burbank-based nonprofit that assists single, at-risk mothers and their children through intervention, education and support. She has also performed pro bono work for the New Los Angeles Charter School and Lupus LA, and currently serves on the Corporations Committee for the California Lawyers Association.
She earned her J.D. from University of Southern California Gould School of Law and B.A., magna cum laude, from Kenyon College.
